Prayer Vigil for the State of Israel Held at Temple Israel On Sunday, October 15. 2023, members of the community gathered at Temple Israel of Riverhead to pray for the state of Israel. The sanctuary was filled with people of all faiths and denominations. The prayer vigil was arranged by Barbara Sheryll from the North Fork Reform Synagogue, and it included 4 Rabbis, and several local Reverends and Ministers. Prayers, psalms, songs, poems, and meditations were shared by the clergy, including Oseh Shalom, Prayer for the State of Israel, El Maleh Rachamim, Mourner’s Kaddish, and concluded with the Israeli national anthem, Hatikvah, the Hope.
